Influx strives to provide audiences with an experience that is both visually stunning and emotionally powerful. Under the direction of Joanne Willmott, Influx Dance Company has been devising touring productions since 2001.  The company have previously worked with renowned choreographers Siobhan Davies, Bawren Tavaziva and Yael Flexer.  Influx has a passion for challenging young people to reach beyond their expectations and create work of an exceptional standard. Their work in education is vital in their commitment for striving for excellence. Influx offer exciting: creative, technical and performance opportunities, which not only inspire and enthuse young people to dance but encourages students to push beyond all expectations to deepen their confidence and sense of achievement. My ‘learning curve’ with Influx Dance Company has been made up of many memorable and inspiring experiences. The educational workshops and projects offered by Influx have consisted of an invigorating range of movement styles and performance skills. I have been able to learn a wide range of culturally diverse movement vocabularies (which have broadened my awareness of the ‘world’ of dance), along with being guided into the art of ‘creative play’; sculpting my own choreographic skills. My skills were further developed in the improvisational tasks, which required me to challenge how far I could stretch my creativity and movement invention. Overall, my experiences with Influx have predominantly inspired my pathway into dance, leading me to complete a dance degree and now undertake a Masters in Performance and Choreography. Working with Influx has allowed me to grow as a person and as a dancer and I would not be where I am now if it were not for their extensive inspiration and guidance.’ Kayleigh Anne Crook (2010) Influx in New York August 2010: Joanne Willmott and Nicola Penfold are seeking professional development opportunities in New York.
